A great start to the new year 2013..Daily meditation, daily walks and a few good parties, the highlight so far being a gathering of women artists for Nollaig na mban, or women’s Christmas, which is celebrated in this part of Kerry by women getting together and the men having to fend for themselves. Linda Graham,Suzy O’Mullane, Sue Hubbard,Biddy McLoughlin and myself gathered at Noelle Campbell Sharps house in Ballinskelligs on Jan 6th and celebrated female freedom in art and life. All the artists were staying in the retreat at the time, and gave themselves time off work for the day. We had a jig or two as well
